Here at One Stop Map we love maps (obviously…) and we strongly believe they can play a very important role in education. So we were very happy to receive some photos from one of our recent customers. Kylie Smith is a Peace Corps volunteer, working on a school in Fiji. She had purchased one of our world vector maps recently and asked us if we could provide her with a custom version showing just boundaries and a reference grid. Then, with help from her fellow staff-members and the students, she projected that on a wall, traced over it and then painted it to create this lovely mural.
By adding numbers rather than names to all the countries, islands and other features this map can be used to quiz the students on their topographic knowledge and hopefully end up loving maps as much as we do!
“The students and teachers LOVE it, and the fact that it’s a Pacific-centered depiction makes it all the more special to them here in Fiji. I know this resource will be utilized by students and community members for years to come. Thanks again, and a hearty Fijian vinaka vakalevu,” – Kylie Smith
